Doyle Brunson has earmarked a maximum of 10 players who he thinks represent the next generation of legends. Dubbed the "Brunson 10", they are young legends in the making. Brunson is so selective that he has only chosen 5 players so far for this honour. If things had gone smoothly for the Brunson 10, there would be 6 players however, due to some developments, Alec Torelli had to leave the Brunson 10 after only six months of joining.
Alex Kamberis
Alex “AJKHoosier1” Kamberis is a very accomplished online poker player who has over $4 million in online winnings. He’s not a lightweight in tournaments too, having had many deep finishes in various tournaments, even nabbing some first place wins. His most recent victory was the $25,000 buy-in High Roller Bounty Shootout at the North American Poker Tour Venetian Event. He also appeared at the final table of the World Championship of Poker Main Event back in 2008. Last year, he was barely seen in the poker world due to his taking a hiatus. He has only been seen in the PokerStarsCaribbean Adventure since his appearance at the 2008 World Championships. This 2010, though, he promises to remind people that he can play. So we can safely assume that we will be seeing a lot of him this 2010. He’s going to be participating a lot in poker events, both online and offline. One place where we’ll surely see him is at the High Roller Bounty Event at the NAPT. He’s going to be competing against pros like Daniel Negreanu, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, Lee Markholt, and Andrew Robl. Kamberis is actually surprised that he was invited to this one, considering that he’s probably one of the lesser known players there. Still, he says that he hopes to ‘shine’ in this one so that he will be noticed and will be invited to more similar events.
